KCCI is a full service television station in Des Moines, Iowa, broadcasting on local digital VHF channel 8. Founded in 1955 as KRNT-TV, it is owned by Hearst Television, Inc. KCCI is affiliated with CBS, airing CBS's primetime shows in the evening.
In the morning, the station airs CBS's morning news and information program, with spots for local news and weather; in the afternoon, it airs CBS's soap operas; in the early evening, it shows CBS's national news broadcast and local newscasts. After primetime, it airs its own local newscasts, followed by CBS's late-night programming. KCCI also airs local sports broadcasts.
KCCI's channel is multiplexed, with two subchannels. Channel 8.1 shows KCCI and CBS programs, and 8.2 airs Me-TV. The station used the call sign KTNT-TV from 1955 until 1974.
