Al Jazeera Balkans brings regional and global news, and reports on the region to viewers who follow Al Jazeera Media Network's programs around the world.

Al Jazeera was launched in 1996 as the first independent Arab information channel in the world. Ten years later, in November 2006, Al Jazeera launched an English-language program. It was the first such global program to be broadcast from the Middle East.
